Plant Pathology > Graduate Program
WelcomeWelcome to the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of California, Riverside. We represent a group of faculty, extension specialists, staff, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students working in a wide range of fields. Our ultimate goal is to improve disease management of California’s crops. A wide range of ongoing research topics includes the molecular biology of host-pathogen interactions, ecology, epidemiology and management of diseases of temperate and sub-tropical crops such as grape and citrus, soil-borne diseases, how plant viruses assemble their particles and resist host defense mechanisms within cells and fundamental studies of pathogens and model systems. For more information on these and other research areas visit Faculty & Research. The department offers M.S and Ph.D. degrees through our highly competitive graduate program. Our faculty members are world-renowned in their respective fields. We also pride ourselves on an outstanding teaching record. We have an excellent record at placing our graduate students in very competitive academic, government and private positions in the United States and overseas. We would be glad to hear from you if you have inquiries about our program, and we hope you will find the information provided here useful. Feel free to drop us a line. Mike Allen |
